WHAM was started by Daniel Knowles, M.A. from his existing voice studio, that has been here in the West Hollywood community since 1997.
While completing his Master's Degree in Music Education: Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from California State University, Los Angeles, Mr. Knowles began the West Hollywood Academy of Music, expanding his vocal studio to include other teachers and other musical instruments.
As part of our high standards:
All music teachers hold at least a bachelor’s degree in music from a regionally accredited university.
No teacher teaches an instrument or voice unless they them self was trained in at the university level.
Singing lessons are not given by anyone other than university trained singing teachers.
All lessons are tailored to each individual student’s needs, goals and abilities.
The standards are high and based on the California and National Standards in music education.
The ultimate standard is to train musicians that are eventually employable musicians and are prepared for successful auditions in to a music program at a regionally accredited university.
For those students preparing for acceptance, and completion, in to university music programs, ongoing counseling is provided by the student’s primary teacher and the music education director.
